Things withno brief

Generative SVG experiments, and the writing that goes with them. Three of these are essays with a working piece built into the argument. The rest are things I wanted to see move.

Cumulative

One thread per interaction that went the way it should. Hundreds of them make a fabric. One button removes it in a single frame.

With “Design, trust, and why it all matters”

Three Voices

A climb to 3,210 metres with three inner voices arguing. Push the pace and the encourager gives up sooner. Only the doubter makes it to the top.

With “I like hiking, but I’m not sure how much”

The Pause

A verse, then six seconds of nothing with no progress bar. Move the mouse and it ends early — which is the point. The silence only holds if you let it.

With “The long pause”

The pause, playing

One live performance, and the few seconds of silence in the middle of it that the whole crowd agrees to hold.

With “The long pause”

Controlled Chaos

Two hundred scooters crossing one intersection with no rules and no collisions. Built from a paragraph I wrote about the traffic here.

Fork

A tree that grows by always taking the harder branch. Every run ends somewhere different and none of them look sensible.

Also on Substack. I write about AI workflows for product design over there — native prototyping without a developer, building Figma plugins with agents. Different register entirely, and more useful if you came here for the work.
